How did you meet?
An online dating website in 2015!
Tell us about the proposal!
He booked us a weekend away in Dorset, I thought it was an early birthday treat! We went out one evening to Durdle Door and had a walk all around the coastline and beach, it was such a gorgeous evening and the sun was setting. Looking back I should have realised he was acting a little strange but I just didn’t think anything of it. He had planned to do it that evening on the beach but got so nervous he did it the next morning in our hotel room. It was a perfect moment and I wouldn’t have asked for it any other way.
How did you choose where to shop for your wedding dress?
I’ve always known I wanted to look for my dress at Isabella Grace, I’d always heard and read amazing things and also been to a fitting with a friend before so knew I’d find my dream dress there!
Tell us about your wedding dress experience, and why did you choose your wedding dress.
I knew very much the kind if style I wanted and after doing a bit of research fell in love with Eliza Jane Howell and her designs. I found one of her dresses and having looked at so many online kept being drawn back to it. You had it in the sale a year before I got married and I called to see if you still had any in stock, which you did, but being so popular it was recommended i booked in for a fitting as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and unfortunately at the time that wasn’t possible so I tried to forget about it and continue looking for other dresses I liked.
Fast forward to my dress fitting and I just thought I would ask if you happened to have any left in the shop – I couldn’t believe my luck when Amber came walking in with the only one left! It was the first dress out of 6 or 7 I tried on and the one I just felt amazing in. It was complete fate!
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience choosing my dress and the service we received was second to none.
Describe your wedding day. Where, when, how…
We got married at Rye Town Hall and had our reception in the George. I absolutely love Christmas and my husband wasn’t too fussed about the time of year so we went for a winter wedding. My grandparents have a caravan in Rye so we’ve spent quite a bit of time there but we just knew the whole setting was going to fit perfectly with what we wanted. We had a Gatsby style 1920s theme and our guests went all out and looked incredible. Rye was the perfect location.
Favourite part of your wedding day?
I don’t think we have a favourite part, the whole day blew us away. having our family and closest friends there supporting us and celebrating with us was amazing. We just wish we could do it all over again from start to finish!
Anything you would change if you could do it all again?
Absolutely nothing! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and feel incredible lucky.
Your top tip for future brides?
To have what you want and not worry about everybody else. To relax and absorb everything, everyone tells you the day goes so quickly and you don’t realise until the day just how quickly it does.
Try and find 5 minutes at regular intervals throughout the day with your new husband to just see each other as the whole day is a complete whirlwind.
