How did you meet?
We went to the same secondary school and got to know each other through sharing the same friends and we have been with one another since 15 years old – now 27. It took me a while to even talk to Scott at first, as I was quite shy – but thankfully he didn’t give up and wasn’t put off by my shyness!
Tell us about the proposal!
Scott decided since we had been together for 10 years he would surprise me to a weekend away together to Dubrovnik in Croatia. One day whilst there he was planning a nice romantic boat trip- just the two of us, but unfortunately it was quite choppy out at sea. The next evening (Scott was obviously waiting for the right time to propose) we were at a lovely restaurant, not too many people, with lots of space (as he knew I wouldn’t want people watching) The setting was perfect – two ladies singing, playing the guitar looking over the sea in a beautiful quiet restaurant. Scott asked the waiter to take a photo of us and I obviously didn’t realise and there I was sat there posing for the photo being taken.. little did I know Scott was holding a ring proposing! The waiter really captured the moments, as the next two photos showed my reaction – hand across my face and then another photo wiping my eyes from crying. It was such a lovely idea for Scott to capture the moment with photos and the waiter did an amazing job in doing so!!
How did you choose where to shop for your wedding dress?
Living in Tunbridge Wells I always drive by and see the most beautiful dresses in the window of Isabella Grace. Also one of my close friends also bought a beautiful wedding dress herself, so I knew I had to go and see for myself and in the back of my mind I knew I would find my dream dress in there – which I did!!
Tell us about your wedding dress experience, and why did you choose your wedding dress.
My wedding dress experience was just perfect. Everyone that works at Isabella Grace makes you feel so welcomed, relaxed and special. I loved the fact I was upstairs in a huge room with mirrors with my maid of honour and the lovely Amber. I knew which style I wanted, but I didn’t want to rule out anything without trying. So I tried on many styles and I must say since every dress I tried on was beautiful it was hard to say no to all of them! When I tried my wedding dress on – I knew it was the one, but luckily my maid of honour helped me with this too as I could tell she thought the same. Amber couldn’t have been anymore accommodating and professional when assisting and helping me.
Describe your wedding day. Where, when, how…
Our wedding day was at the Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells on Friday 12th July. We were so fortunate with the weather as we were predicted storms running up to the week – thankfully things changed with lots of sun, a few clouds and a perfect temperature of 23 degrees Celsius. The Spa has a lovely new temple outside where the ceremony took place. I was extremely nervous walking down the aisle, but I relaxed so much as the day went on. The day was filled with lots of fun, laughter, happy tears and dancing through to the evening.
Favourite part of your wedding day?
So many parts of the day were so special to us and it would be hard to nail down my favourite part. I would say just being able to see and spend time with so many family and friends and seeing them enjoy themselves throughout the whole day.
Anything you would change if you could do it all again?
I wouldn’t change an absolute thing about the day – it was more than perfect for us.
Your top tip for future brides?
For future brides I would say, enjoy and embrace every single moment as the day goes too fast! Don’t let anything on the day get in the way even if things don’t go to plan – just let the day unfold, relax and enjoy it with the people that matter the most to you. I would also say as a tip given to me, to make sure you either have a quiet moment with your partner or stick with each other as much as you can, so you can enjoy the day together and share the special moments together.
