How did you meet?
I met my now Husband Arron in 2007 when I was just 14 years old and although Arron was already 17 we made our relationship official in January 2008. We met whilst just casually enjoying some time out with old friends in our local area. It was definitely not the most romantic setting where you would expect to find love.
Clearly, it was fate and was meant to be. Our feelings were strong from the very first time we met and as we grew closer we knew that we wanted to make the best out of our lives and to do it all together.
Tell us about the proposal!
I can honestly say that Arron made up for the not so romantic start that we had in our relationship and ensured that our engagement was the perfect story to add to our forever happy ending!
For our 9th anniversary we decided that we were going to celebrate and we whisked away to the most stunning city of Rome. On the evening of our Anniversary, 10th January 2017 in the most picturesque and romantic setting of the ‘Piazza di Trevi Fountain’ Arron got down on one knee and proposed! I was totally surprised, overwhelmed and emotional as after being together for what feels like a lifetime I had thought that perhaps marriage wasn’t on the agenda anytime soon. It was a totally unexpected moment. Arron had actually purchased my engagement ring quite a few months before our planned trip to Rome when he had finally plucked up the courage to ask my Nan and Grandad for my hand in marriage. Arron then had the very sweet idea of asking my Nan to go shopping to help him find the most perfect engagement ring for me. My grandparents are the rock of our family so this meant the absolute world to me to know that they were part of this very special moment.
How did you choose where to shop for your wedding dress?
A very close friend of mine recommended ‘Isabella Grace Bridal Boutique’ when I announced my engagement! When I researched the boutique I instantly loved the way the boutique is run with a selection of appointments to choose from and the variety of dresses were just stunning! I called straight away and booked my first luxury bridal appointment for 12 months before my Wedding Day. From the very first phone call I made into the boutique I was made to feel like the only bride that ever existed and that the moment I had forever longed for in finding my dream wedding dress was going to happen at Isabella Grace.
Tell us about your wedding dress experience, and why did you choose your wedding dress.
I said, ‘YES to my Dress’ at Isabella Grace Boutique !!
If I was to sum up my experience in three simple words it would be – Dreamy, Exquisite and Emotional! Isabella Grace is the most flawless and perfected boutique from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. I would recommend Isabella Grace without any doubt to any future brides who want their once in a lifetime experience to be faultless.
On the day of my first appointment myself, my Mum, Nan, Sister (Bridesmaid) and Uncle (Groomsmen) was welcomed by the lovely Amber. We had a fantastic appointment with Amber, who was extremely friendly and helpful and gave her advice when it really was needed. I selected 5 very stunning dresses to try on and overall there were two dresses I fell in love with. At the end of my appointment I was although still a little unsure between the 2 dresses and therefore arranged to re-visit the boutique another day to be certain. Upon leaving the boutique my family stated which dress they believed I would choose as they could see that this one particular dress took my breath away. It in fact was also the only dress that I picked out myself as it caught my eye as soon as I entered the boutique. When I pulled my family towards this particular dress my Uncle instantly smiled and said that it was the only dress that also caught his eye when we entered the boutique.
When I then re-visited the boutique with my Nan and Uncle it was safe to say my family were right and that it was that particular dress that I became so certain it was going to be my wedding dress. On both occasions once my veil had been added I shed quite a few tears as I just felt truly amazing and like that princess I had always wanted to be. I decided to keep my final choice a secret from my Mum and Sister so they could be surprised on my wedding day with the dress that I finally chose!
Once I purchased my dress and went home I was curious if I had selected a similar dress to what I had put on a wedding dress mood board that I had been creating over the past 6 months running up to my appointment. Upon opening the mood board I was so shocked as there it was, MY exact wedding dress! I was in disbelief as this meant not only was it the first dress that had caught my eye in the rails as I entered the boutique it was also the first dress I had selected on the Isabella Grace website.
When I look back I know that there is no way that the other wedding dress would have made me feel the way I felt on my wedding day and that by far my blush wedding dress was the most amazing and perfect dress for me on my day. It was more than the wedding dress I had dreamed off, I could never have pictured a dress with such pure perfection. After our day had come to an end I was so emotional taking off my wedding dress as it was just so stunning and I felt the most amazing that I had ever felt.
Describe your wedding day. Where, when, how…
Our Wedding Day was at Chilston Park Manor House in Lenham, Kent on Friday 6th July 2018. It’s a beautiful venue with stunning grounds and really was the perfect setting for our Wedding.
We will always owe so much to my grandparents who made our dream wedding day come true. They made it possible for us to share our special day with all of our loved ones around us and in the most beautiful venue. Our day truly did take our breath away!
Favourite part of your wedding day?
How could I possibly choose a favourite part… it was simply perfect from the moment my bridesmaids’ alarm went of at 5am in the morning until the moment Arron & I finally decided at 4:30am the following morning to go to bed! We just didn’t want our day and all its moments to end, it was more than I could have ever have dreamed it to be.
A very special and memorable part to our day was a surprise organised by my lovely Nan. After sunset the DJ requested all of our guests to go out onto the grounds of Chilston Park and at this point we had no idea what was about to happen. Once we had all gathered together directly in front of us started a breath-taking firework display just for us. What a truly amazing surprise, it was so magical!
Anything you would change if you could do it all again?
Definitely not – it was everything I could ever have hoped for and more!
Your top tip for future brides?
Be the most organised person you’ve ever been from the very start of your wedding planning process. You will always get those last minute jobs to complete nearer the time but be prepared as much as you can and as early as you can be. Also always ensure you always feel 100% in your decision when choosing your suppliers. This will allow you to be fully trustworthy and be able to relax through the planning process and on the day that they have the job in hand. As you then become much closer and to your single figure countdown it’s time you close your notepad and put down that pen and let the professionals take over. This will allow you to be able to take in and enjoy all those precious moments leading up to your big day! It really is amazing when everything you have planned to perfection happens all in front of your very eyes.
I would say though most importantly remember to enjoy every single moment of your special day as you really can’t re-live those exact feelings and moments again. And honestly once your day is finished and you’ve hung up your wedding dress you really will forever wish you could just do it all over again!
