How did you meet?
At a mutual friends BBQ.
Tell us about the proposal!
The proposal was so simple and so unexpected! We had not long got back from holiday where everyone had assumed it was going to happen out there. It was a random Sunday at home just after and Scott brought me breakfast in bed… with an engagement ring! It was perfect for us, and we went off to celebrate for the day in Canterbury and later on with our family.
How did you choose where to shop for your wedding dress?
4 years ago I visited Isabella Grace as my sister in laws Maid of Honour and I always dreamed of coming back one day to find my own wedding dress. The shop is so beautiful, and the service is so personal I never even got as far as even stepping into another shop!
Tell us about your wedding dress experience, and why did you choose your wedding dress.
It was such a special experience with my Mum and MOH, one that I won’t forget. I only tried on a handful before finding ‘the one’. It was my Mum and MOH’s reaction that made me realise it was the dress for me. I went for an Essence dress, and added a hoop underneath. I absolutely loved that it was backless, and I loved the long train and pretty detail. I received so many compliments on it and I wish I could wear it everyday!!
Describe your wedding day. Where, when, how…
We got married at the London Golf Club 10 minutes from our home on 15th September 2018, where we had the ceremony and the reception. I got dressed in the Henry Cooper suite with my Mum, Mother in law to be, 6 bridesmaids, and 3 flower girls… while the Groom, Dads and Ushers were playing a round of golf! I could see the guests arriving which was so exciting!
The ceremony took place in the Great Hall and we had 117 guests. The florist did an amazing job and the venue looked even better than we could’ve imagined.
We were so lucky with the weather and were able to make the most of the beautiful terrace overlooking the golf course having photos, canapes and drinks, and at the end of the day we went off in a golf buggy for some amazing twilight photos by Steve Barber!
I remember sitting on the top table during the wedding breakfast, watching everyone and trying to let it all sink in. The food was so good, and the speeches pulled on a few heart strings but they were also hilarious.
When we came back from the Twilight photos our evening guests had started to arrive and from our first dance onwards I don’t think Scott and I left the dance floor!
Our day was everything we could’ve dreamed of and even more, and it was so overwhelming to have all of our nearest and dearest celebrating with us.
Favourite part of your wedding day?
We loved it all, but if we had to pick it would be the evening reception and the dance floor being full the whole night. It was the best seeing everyone having so much fun!
Anything you would change if you could do it all again?
Remember to tell yourself it’s your day and those little things that are stressing you out really won’t matter on the day.
Your top tip for future brides?
Try to stop and take in every moment of the lead up and on the day because it goes way too fast! I would really recommend getting a videographer so you can relive your day for years to come, and see those little moments you would’ve missed. Our videographer was Cut Above Productions and we can’t recommend them enough.
