How did you meet?
Dan and I met at work. We were friends for a few months before we got together.
Tell us about the proposal!
Dan is from Devon and his family still live there. We were travelling there to see his Mum, when Dan stopped the car beside the beach in Instow, North Devon. When we got out of the car, he got down on one knee, and popped the question! It’s the first time I’d ever felt truly speechless!
How did you choose where to shop for your wedding dress?
I walked past the Isabella Grace bridal shop in Tunbridge Wells many times, as Dan was living about 2 minutes away from the shop when we first got together. I knew I didn’t want to go anywhere else!
Tell us about your wedding dress experience, and why did you choose your wedding dress.
I went dress shopping with my mum and Auntie, and tried about 3 or 4 dresses on before I found ‘the one’. I loved it as soon as I put it on. When I saw my auntie and mum in tears, I knew it was the dress for me! It was a lovely experience, complete with champagne and scented candles. The staff put me immediately at ease, and I didn’t want to take the dress off at the end of it!!
Describe your wedding day. Where, when, how…
We got married at Lympne Castle on 4th November. It was a lovely, crisp autumnal day, and we were surrounded by our close family and friends. Our guests kept warm with hot winter pimms, and we really embraced the autumn/winter colours.
Favourite part of your wedding day?
It is hard to pick only one favourite part. The ceremony was special and seeing each other for the first time was emotional! We also loved dancing the night away with all our friends and family (see pictures!!)
Anything you would change if you could do it all again?
We’ve both discussed this, and there is nothing we would change!
Your top tip for future brides?
Try to leave yourself as much time as possible. We planned the wedding in about a year, and got lots organised straight away. We got inspiration from friends (we had lots of recommendations), wedding fairs and online. Instagram and Pinterest were great. My main tip though, is ENJOY IT! The day should be about you and your partner, and it’s easy to forget that when tearing your hair out over seating plans!!
